So how does the AdWords bidding work?
The position of your ad is based on your ad rank (Maximum Bid times Quality Score). The ad with the highest rank gets the 1st ad position and so on. The only exception of this rule is if you are the only bidder or the lowest bid in the AdWords auction; then you pay the maximum bid per click! Those with the highest Quality Scores get the highest ad ranks and CPC.
