With more than 259 million users worldwide, LinkedIn is one of the most popular social network sites for professionals (source:expandedramblings).
However for those in the know, LinkedIn is fast becoming more than a place where professionals and job seekers come to network. Increasingly the site also presents tremendous potential for businesses to engage in sales and marketing strategies with consumers and other businesses alike.
According to research done by HubSpot, 43% of marketers have found a customer on LinkedIn. Even more compelling is that those at Econsultancy state that LinkedIn is responsible for a staggering 64% of all visits from social media channels to corporate websites which is even more impressive when you take into account that the site is growing at a rate of nearly two new members per second.
