ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Soccer is just as important a part of the proposed north riverfront stadium as professional football, the task force dedicated to the effort says.
St. Louis has oft been mentioned as in-the-running for a soccer franchise, although the next two expansion slots seem to have already been snapped up. It’s expected Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. will be announced in the next month as the league’s newest city.
Here’s the good news: Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber said Monday that he and his team will spend much of 2015 evaluating potential expansion beyond the already-planned 24 teams.
